This is more than just a job it’s a chance to kickstart a rewarding career in Irrigation, contribute to your community, and be part of a team that’s shaping the City’s Irrigation systems for future generations.If you’re ready to dig in and grow with us, we’d love to hear from you!In this role, you will undertake duties under supervision and assist the crew to:Install, inspect, test and maintain irrigation systemsDiagnose and repair irrigation faults and breakagesCarry out repairs including valve replacements, pipe repairs, irrigation wiring, solenoids, and water system connectionsAssist with irrigation programming, calibration and interpretation of irrigation plansOperate and maintain plant and equipment such as vehicles, excavators and trenching equipmentMaintain safe, clean and tidy work sitesAttend and complete all required TAFE training and assessmentsWork across various irrigation environments and undertake secondments within Parks and Environment as requiredEnsure all work meets quality standards and safety requirementsAttend all lectures and meet assignment deadlines.Criteria for the roleA genuine interest in Irrigation, Water or Amenity Horticulture Completion of Year 10, 11 or 12 with acceptable resultsSatisfactory National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)Sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills, good hands-on technical aptitude and be able demonstrate standard language, literacy and numeracy skills.
